An interesting read . Nowadays i support independent bands & solo artists via various methods including attending gigs by acts I follow in smaller venues and sharing music content from them on social media.Many of bands know are totally independent , DIY with no record label behind them and may have to rely on fans via Kickstarter or Crowdfunding to fund a new full album release, and I personally have contributed to these in the past.
With funding like this there are usually some perks, depending on the band . This could be early bird tickets with maybe a 5 or 10 % discount or a signed photo.
Smaller venues are the lifeline for a lot of emerging bands.
