Specky Cult
ACCOUSTIC PUNK

Now how can you expect me to review a single called 'Seriously',when it's released by a band called 'Specky Cult'.? Seriously, no, seriously......erm, seriously it's a cracking tune to say the least. Three thrilling minutes of New Wave tinged lunacy is a snare driven, jaunty jig. Lyrics are delivered eerily, as if the vocalist is sneaking up behind you, and acoustic guitar adds a hip shaking shuffle to blow these December clouds away!

The single is an introduction to a forthcoming album, with the single hopefully getting the band more gigs to promote it. Their first album was the soundtrack of the musical they had written, the original songs were from the play. During lockdown they wrote a second play, a follow up to 'Specky Cult,The Musical'. Originally titled 'Specky Cult Must Die'. The new album is being mixed, loving the new songs and getting arrangements spot on. There are some really catchy songs, zany lyrics and catchy hooks, and I'll look forward to reviewing the album when it's ready.

With material like this, Specky Cult can comeback as much as they want as this slippy, hippy, trippy single will raise our spirits (mine's a double brandy please) from all the shit that's going down that's unfortunately out of our hands, so keep this tune on repeat play 24/7 until the World is a far, far better place to be in!
These madcap three minutes dish up piano, snare drum and smile inducing choruses that reminded me of a more laid back Nina Hagen! Anyone remember her?
By the way Specky Cult, any news on the new album please?
